Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Sponsor Optimizing Development Finance Levers to Meet the 2030 SDGs: Scoping Report

We prepared a scoping study on the Global Development Finance Landscape, supported by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, that has been deemed a global public good.

Private philanthropic foundations, along with donor countries, are major catalysts of urgent action on climate change and poverty reduction. But with so much to do in such a short time, it is critical for these entities to focus their resources wisely.

With that intention, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (B&MGF) engaged Momentus (formerly IFCL) to undertake a research and scoping report to better support developing countries to meet their Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Our global analysis mapped development finance levers available to donor countries. This will form the basis of a strategy to best position the B&MGF as a global leader in the development finance ecosystem in North America. The research piece has been deemed a global public good and provides the B&MGF with insight into the development finance ecosystem, shining a light on novel levers that are being effectively used by donor countries around the world.
