In an increasingly globalized world, financial institutions strive to align with international best practices, yet every region and institution is unique.
To guide it in striking that balance, an Export Credit Agency (ECA) initially engaged Momentus (formerly IFCL) to assess its structural strengths and weaknesses against international best practices. Our recommendations demonstrated how the ECA could align its range of financial products and services with those of like nature and scope and also complement the broader organizational framework of its parent Development Bank.
Since that time, we have provided ongoing strategic and tactical services as the ECA evolves. Our work to date includes:
- Initial review of the ECA’s organizational structure (2007)
- Investigation of alternatives for expanding its’ insurance capacity (2008)
- Organizational restructuring (2012)
- Review and update of technical reserves methodology (2017)
- Establishment of a Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) business unit (2018)
- Annual communications framework and development of communications materials (2018-2021)
- The 25th Anniversary Annual Development Effectiveness Report (2019)
- Review and enhancement of its’ incurred but not reported (IBNR) calculation model (2019)
- 2019 Annual Report
- Annual Development Effectiveness Report 2020
- Mid-term strategy and strategic priorities review for 2021-2024
Through long-term engagement with this ECA, we provide consistency and guidance, deepening our understanding of their unique needs and fostering the corporation’s ability to strengthen its position in a global economy.
