Research Analyst Intern

Propel Impact & Momentus Global Development are looking to recruit a research analyst this summer.

In partnership with Propel Impact, Momentus Global will be recruiting for an intern as part of Propel Impact’s Summer Analyst Internship program.  This paid internship is eligible for Propel Impact Fellows & Alumni and domestic students returning to study at a Canadian post-secondary institution in September 2024.  The role will be 100% remote and will take place from May 6 to August 9, 2024 over 14 weeks and 35 hours per week.

The Analyst will allocate 80% of their time to Momentus Global Development projects and 20% to Propel Impact projects. This includes collaborative national-scale initiatives supporting social innovation and social finance in Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Momentus Global Development Projects:
    • In-house corporate initiatives and client projects.
    • Research support on various topics including African development finance, investment funds, gender impact, etc.
    • Content development for presentations, case studies, visuals, infographics, etc.
    • Coordination support on client stakeholder calls.
    • Contribution to thought leadership blogs on topics like climate finance and sustainable finance.
    • Launch and refinement of the Health Diagnostic Tool with a focus on gender integration.
  2. Propel Impact Projects:
    • Cohort-based national-scale projects in social innovation and social finance.
    • Collaborative efforts across cities and host organizations.
    • Support for the development, growth, and specific needs of a social enterprise.

  • Strong self-awareness, empathy, and emotional intelligence.
  • Intercultural competency and appreciation for diversity.
  • Interest and knowledge in social/environmental issues, social enterprise, and impact investing.
  • Skills in communications, project management, research & data analysis, and sector/issue/market research.
  • Initiative, organization, self-motivation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in uncertain situations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Desire to contribute to the growth of the Canadian social innovation sector.

Other Details:

  • Salary: $22 per hour
  • Work Hours: Full time (35 hours/week)
  • Office Arrangement: Fully remote, open to applicants from anywhere in Canada.
