Finance and Accounting Intern

The role of the Finance and Accounting Intern will be a part-time fully remote role, with the candidate based in Canada. Reporting to Momentus Global’s Finance Manager, the Intern will be assisting with our accounting and financial management activities, utilizing analytical skills, working with accounting software and supporting on finance-related tasks. Strong communication skills will be essential in this role to collaborate effectively with team members.

Key Activities

  • Provide general support on daily activities to Finance Manager
  • Support enhancements in current accounting systems and processes
  • Assist in financial analysis & reporting, including assisting in preparing monthly, quarterly and yearly management, sales and profitability reports
  • Assist in forecasting & budgeting including participate in BD and project revenue forecasting processes, inputting data into financial models and supporting reconciliation of forecasts with actual results
  • Gather and organize large datasets from various sources to support financial analysis. Support to ensure accuracy and consistency of financial data in systems
  • Cross team collaboration including data entry and management to support up-to-date reporting and status of our business development and project portfolio

Eligibility

As this internship may be partially subsidized by the Canada Summer Jobs scheme, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period
  • be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment and
  • have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations

Please note that candidates must also be based within the constituency of one of our staff members in Canada. A pre-qualification check will be done to ascertain eligibility including the candidate’s current address.

Qualifications

  • Financial Analysis Skills
  • Familiarity with QBO Accounting Software
  • Finance knowledge and Communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Enrolment in or completion of a degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment
  • Interest in sustainable development and impact finance is a plus

Other Details:

  • Duration: Up to 20 hours per week and up to 16 weeks. Estimated period between May to August 2025.
  • Office Arrangement: Fully remote.
